Mykola Tomenko: It is Values and Matters of State, not Positions are supposed to unite the Opposition
On Wednesday, during the meeting with journalists in the course of the visiting Lviv Region, Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated: "It is Values and Matters of State, not Positions are supposed to unite the Opposition."
Giving comments regarding the problem of the principal tasks regarding the opposition activity, M. Tomenko reminded that he is surprised by the discussions regarding what offices one would occupy in the oppositional Government. "It is necessary to work hard in the opposition but to share the chairs", - he emphasized.
The Deputy Chairman announced that YTB would not initiate the fighting for the Leader´s position of the Parliamentary Committees and the office of the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. "When we possessed powers, we showed an example of respect towards the opposition and now it is the turn of the coalition", - the politician stated.
Mykola Tomenko also suggested that the People´s Deputies actively expressing their desire to be in opposition go and register and protect their Bills in the Parliament but not attend the Verkhovna Rada only in the salary day.
Though, M. Tomenko is convinced that soon "we will have strong united Ukrainian democratic opposition in the Parliament."
